Raw power snack



I am soaking almonds 1/2 cup (minimum 2 hours) then putting in food processor with 1-2 cups strawberries, and 1-2 banana's! What a pure and simple snack - protein and fruit. You can freeze it. Put in muffin tins or paper muffin cups and you get single portion snacks! Or eat it like a 'yogurt'. If you freeze them, you might want to let them defrost just a little while before you attack...

Eating Raw



I was introduced to raw foods about four months ago. Eating "raw" was not entirely new to me. I have been eating as organic and as natural (more later) as I can for almost ten years now. After discovering how crappy I would feel after eating processed foods - mostly sugary foods. As you probably know almost every single packaged food has sugar in some form in it.

Anyway, eating "clean", I noticed my energy levels improve, my moods became stable, my skin cleared up, I became more focused, even PMS has become bearable. Over time, I have done much research on this and it is all true. Processed foods are basically poison, at least to me. I will never go back to eating crap. My body and mind feel so strong and sharp today.

So after experimenting with some raw receipes (which I will share) I was hooked. The benefits of raw diets is increased energy, weight loss, skin appearence improves, heart disease decreases.

Key Lime Pie - My personal favorite raw treat~ A must try!
Crust Ingredients:
3 C fine almond flour*
4-5 fresh medjool dates
2 T coconut oil
1/2 tsp. sea saltFilling Ingredients:
2 small ripe avocados
1 banana
1 1/4 C juice from key limes (regular limes will also work fine)
1/2 C mango chunks
1/2 C agave nectar
1/3 C coconut cream concentrate or oil
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation:
To make crust, place almond flour, dates, coconut oil, and sea salt in a food processor and blend until it balls up. Firmly press crust into pie pan and set aside.
To make the filling, process all filling ingredients in a high-powered blender such as a VitaMix until smooth and fluid. Pour into pie shell and freeze about 4-6 hours or longer. I like to serve this topped with a little shredded coconut and mango chunks or slices.

*Almond Flour is made from ground raw almonds. Please note that you can buy almond flour at most health food stores, which is what I do. Then all you do is measure it out!





Crystal Garden - It has been a week since I went to Crystal Garden and purchased healing crystals. Let me tell you - the energy is amazing! After clearing the crystals (more later) I used what I knew about Feng Shui and placed the crystals in my home where the energy is needed.




Whenever I leave the house I bring the crystals with me - I also purchased a beautiful silk bag to carry them around in. I can pull out the crystals as needed. For example, I was getting filled with some anger and resentments at my ex for things said and done so I took out the crystal, Aragonite - Blue, which is helpful in periods of stress and/or anger and provides insight into basis of problems. I put the crystal near my heart and let the energy in. You can also just hold the crystal in your hand for a while. I have even put the crystal on my neck, right on my pulse.





CLEARING CRYSTALS - is necessary before any stone is used in healing. The clearer the energy of the stone, the more powerful it is. Crystals and healing gemstones need to be cleared as soon as they are purchased to cleanse the rocks of any negativity. There are several methods. I chose to do two different cleanses. Thats part of my OCDness...

The first method I did was to hold the crystals under cool running water, points down to drain the negative energy right down the sink!

I also purchased sage at the Crystal Garden. I ran the stones through the smoke from the sage to purify the stones.
